Alterations is the key to making the gown of your dreams fit to every curve of your body as well as ensuring your gown has a proper fit. Alterations may be as simple as adding a bustle to the dress or inserting bra cups or may be as involved as creating a custom made jacket to compliment your dress.

As a courtesy to our local Twin Cities customers needing alterations, we have Venecia Frick from Said Sew, come to Heartstrings Bridal on Mondays and Wednesday afternoons for any alterations needs. Venecia Frick is an independent seamstress with her own sewing shop in Ramsey, Minnesota. Venecia has worked on bridal gowns, prom gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother's dresses for over 17 years and enjoys sewing and making her clients look their very best and feel comfortable in their gowns. She has a lot of experience working with the designers that Heartstrings Bridal carries and comes highly recommended from past clients. Some of the alterations your dress may need includes:

Gown Shortening
Bodice Seam Adjustment
Bodice Detail Alterations
Corset Bodice Alterations
Bodice Alterations from zip back to corset back
Zip replacement
Cup Insertion (to avoid uncomfortable undergarments)
Custom made jackets

We recommend brides schedule their first fitting 10-12 weeks before their wedding date and bridesmaids, mothers, and flower girls 4-5 weeks before the wedding date. Same week alterations can be done for an additional fee. Please note that Venecia is not an employee of Heartstrings Bridal and is an independent consultant.

Venecia currenlty has consultation hours at Heartstrings Bridal on Mondays from 4 to 6pm and Wednesdays from 4 to 7pm by appointment only.

**Reminders***

-Please bring your bra/undergarments/shoes to your fitting. You will have to make another appointment to come back if you are missing these items, and she will not work on your dress if you do not have these items at your appointment.

-Please do not be late for your appointment. Venecia's time is very valuable since she runs a tight schedule for the times she is at our store. If you are late and miss your scheduled time you be asked to reschedule for a future date.

-If you are gettings alterations done, payments will be collected up front by Venecia for the full amount before any work will be done on your gown.

-Alterations for gowns are completed by wedding date. Venecia will call you directly to let you know your dress is completed and to schedule additional fittings. Venecia completes gowns in order of wedding date.

-Gown steaming after alterations can be arranged for a small fee through Venecia or by purchasing a package from Heartstrings Bridal.
